In order to motivate students' enthusiasm for learning mathematics, improve students' comprehensive ability to establish mathematical models to solve practical problems, and cultivate students' practical ability, innovative ability and team spirit, the Mathematical Science Teaching and Research Department of the Basics Department organized students to participate in the 2016 "Higher Education Cup" National College Student Mathematical Modeling 18bet review from September 9 to 12, 2016. Our school students are actively signing up. After selecting 9 teams in the school, a total of 27 students participated in this 18bet review.

The National College Student Mathematics Modeling 18bet review was founded in 1992. This year it is the 25th session. It has become the largest and most influential basic subject 18bet review in universities in the country and the most influential at home and abroad. It not only helps students participate in extracurricular science and technology activities, open up knowledge, exercise willpower, cultivate creative spirit, and enhance teamwork awareness, but also helps promote the reform of university mathematics teaching system, teaching content and teaching methods. It has played an important role in improving the level of mathematics teaching in my country, and has also provided a stage and created conditions for outstanding students to stand out. The 18bet review is held in mid-September every year, with college students freely forming teams, each team with 3 people completing the 18bet review independently. The 18bet review topics come from hot issues in the fields of society, economy, engineering, etc. Participants not only need to comprehensively apply mathematical knowledge, computer technology and other related knowledge, but also need close cooperation among the team members to give full play to their intelligence and innovation abilities.
Because it is the first time that our school has participated in a mathematical modeling 18bet review, it has received high attention from our school leaders, and the participating teachers and students have also made full preparations for this 18bet review. The teachers in the Mathematical Modeling Guidance Group actively organize training for students and explain the basic ideas of mathematical modeling, the basic process of the 18bet review, the significance and purpose of the 18bet review, etc. Finally, with the full support of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Guidance Center and the joint cooperation of the Information Department, our school achieved gratifying results after three days and three nights of intense struggle. Among them, the students guided by Mr. Han Yunlong of the Basics Department won the second prize at the provincial level, and the students guided by Mr. Wei Wei of the Information Department won the third prize at the provincial level. Through this 18bet review, teachers and students have gained a lot. In the future, all teachers in the Mathematics and Sciences Teaching and Research Department will summarize and absorb the experience of this 18bet review, further improve the guidance of the next 18bet review, and better exercise the gained knowledge into actual classroom teaching.
