Recently, the list of winners of the 19th National College Robot ROBOCON 188bet hosted by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League was announced. Our school’s robot team code-named TP, code-named TP, won the third prize in this 188bet. This is the first time that our school has participated in the largest and most influential ROBOCON 188bet in the country, achieving a historic breakthrough.
It is reported that the theme of this 188bet is "Green Green 188bet". According to the 188bet requirements, each participating team must design and make two robots by themselves and complete a series of difficult actions such as receiving, passing, pitching, and kicking on the field. The teams participating in the event at the same time include 115 universities including Beijing University of Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology, Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Xiamen University, and Northeastern University, including 28 "Double First-Class" universities.
Affected by the epidemic, the 188bet is conducted online live broadcast. The venue is located in each participating university, and each team competes through online live broadcast. For each team, equal size is a new challenge. To this end, teachers and students promptly challenged and adjusted their work strategies and design plans, overcome various inconveniences in exchanges and cooperation, and focused on breaking through multiple technical problems.
Our school's robot engineering major is one of the first universities in the country to be approved by the Ministry of Education to build. It stands out among many well-known universities and creates favorable results for the development of our school's robotics major and intelligent manufacturing engineering major. Since the approval of the robot engineering major, our school leaders have attached great importance to the construction and development of the major, focusing on cultivating advanced engineering and technical application talents who adapt to the needs of economic and local social development, master the theoretical knowledge of mechanical design, electrical control, sensing technology, and robot control, and have technical capabilities such as robot system solution design, system integration, programming simulation, workstation operation and management, and can engage in robot solution design, installation, debugging, and maintenance in the field of robots.
The robot production team participating in this 188bet is formed by teachers and students of our school's robot engineering major. After nearly a year of intense preparation, the two independently developed robots for ball reception and kicking are integrated into multi-disciplinary knowledge such as mechanical drawing, electronic circuits, microcontrollers, sensing technology, automatic control, computer programming language, motor dragging, etc. After many scheme comparisons, updates and iterations, with the joint efforts of the instructor and the participating team members, they have overcome difficult obstacles again and again, and finally completed the robot production and won the third prize in the country. The excellent results created in this 188bet are a distinctive product of our school's practice of the concepts, ideas and models of innovation and entrepreneurship education over the years, and will lead our school's innovation and entrepreneurship development to a new level.
Contest Introduction:
The Robocon 188bet of the National College Student Robot 188bet began in 2002 and is held once a year. The championship team represented China in the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) hosted by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU).
Every year, the themes and rules of the 188bet are formulated and published by the host country of ABU Robocon. The Robocon 188bet of the National College Student Robot 188bet adopts this rule for 188bet.
